• “ouch” [when Eric trimmed his hair for the 1st time, even though it didn’t hurt (1/13)]
• “gym, jump, slide”
• “out!” (he says when he wants out of his crib)
• “want” (this is new; he used to say “need”)
• “make coffee” (he heard the sound of the espresso machine)
• “fresh powder pants” (I asked him what I should wear in the snow)
• “football” (he saw someone wearing a Seahawks hat)
• “big, heavy dump truck”
• “dada wash dishes,” “dada toot,” “dada drive, Todd ride, mama ride” (in the car)
• “watch Todd” (he likes watching pictures on my laptop)
• “ball hit face, booboo bear”
• “no way how” (no way, no how)

FAVORITE SHOWS

• “please, dada, put Elf show on”
• “more cut tree guy” (meaning Clark Griswold in Christmas Vacation)
• “white chewie show” (means Frozen)
• “afraid” (of “white chewie,” which is the snowy monster in Frozen)
• “watch Oompa show right now!” (he says “right now” a lot)
• “new Luke” (his name for the YouTube video of dance-mix Darth Vader song, linked below)

COGNITION

• he tries to count his fingers while trying to put each one up
• he loves his new “gold bug” book (Richard Scarry)
• uses descriptors when asking for something i.e. “yellow cup”

• 5 runs on chair 1 (1/16)
• Eric took Todd skiing when I was working; they did 5 runs on chair 1)

• (goppa = his non-dairy milk blend)
• he asks for specific “goppas” because his sippy cups have different stickers on them (i.e., Chewie goppa, Leia goppa, Falcon goppa, Luke goppa)
• he said “watermelon” (sounds like “wadoomelon”) when I asked him what we should shop for at the store
• he calls frozen blueberries “blue candy”

DAY TIME NAPS

• no change from prior months
• he starts naps between 1 PM & 2 PM, then sleeps in his crib up to 3 hours

NIGHT TIME SLEEP

• he woke up in the night 4x & fell back asleep pretty quickly
  • woke up ~3:15 AM saying “Boone house” and “out,” then in the morning he said “wake up” (12/22)
  • woke up ~3:30 AM asking for “goppa water”
  • woke up ~4:15 AM asking for “pillow blanket”
  • brief cry at 11 PM but went right back to sleep without my attention (1/9)
  • woke up at ~4:15 AM (had a goppa)

• bedtime is usually ~9 PM & wake up time is usually ~6 AM = 9 hours of night time sleep (status quo)
• “nap time” (he said it before bed when he was ready to sleep at night)
• he doesn’t always turn on his aquarium soother at night
• giggling before he went to sleep (1/6)
• I whisper “I love you” before bed, and he whispers “aye yeah”
• I lie down next to his crib for ~10 minutes, then I leave after he falls asleep

POTTY TALK

• we consider him basically potty trained for poo-poo: he walks into the bathroom, puts the toilet lid up and starts to put his potty ring on the seat when he has to go
• he does lots of stand up pee-pees in the baby potty (when we ask him to go)
• I caught him before he was going to pee on my bed, then he peed in his baby potty
