YEAR 3, MONTH 11

This is PART 2 of this month’s post because we did so many different activities!
COMMUNICATION
- he emphasizes certain words:
- really hot
- let’s see here
- he says:
- “I want to say hi that kid”
- “hi, I’m Todd”
- “you okay?” (to me when I coughed)
- “mostly use Globber”
- “just a little dot. I don’t wipe off” (when we put sunscreen on him)
- “this shirt, I love this shirt” (while wearing his Champion tank top)
- “double time” or “double time it”
- “I’m not baby anymore”
- “keep talking” (we don’t know if it means we’re supposed to keep talking or stop talking!)
- “remember…”
- “I want open it, see what’s in it” (when we get boxes delivered)
- “I’m sorry” (for peeing on fan…throwing ball in plants…etc)
- “I try put mama upside down”
- “I check one thing. I be right back”
INDOOR PLAY
- Favorite activities:
- he loves putting on his masks (he calls them “mask es”)
- playing lightsabers with Eric
- playing with his Batman & Darth Vader figures
- building “condo houses” with me, out of Duplo Legos (then busting them down)
- watching favorite shows & movies all cozy in his mini tent
- playing games on our phones (i.e. Lego City) & looking at pictures & videos
- looking at his Ultimate Bugo-pedia & Ultimate Dino-pedia books & repeatedly asking “what that?”
- he says:
- “I need goppa and pillow blanket and other pillow blanket”
- “I doing good” or “I did it!” (when playing games on phone)
- “I need help” (when he gets ‘stuck’ while playing Lego City)
- “power dark side” (while lifting his arm & fist up like in Star Wars)
- “I like Doc Ock” (book character)
- “Batman! Robin! Catwoman! Joker! Penguin! Riddler!” (while watching opening scene of Batman movie)
- “duda duda duda duda…duda duda duda duda…Batman!” (to the tune of the Batman song)
- “duda duda duda duda…duda duda duda duda…Vader!”
- “I need fix it better” (when he needs his masks adjusted)
- “accident” (he said about tearing pages out of a book)
- “Tri en cerentops” (how he says Triceratops)
- “Hi, today I go swimming'” (he spoke directly into his popcorn bowl)
- “get out” (he told Eli when he tried to get into Todd’s tent)
T-BALL PLAYER
- he does a 2-handed grip/swing & really connects bat to ball
- he also likes to do ‘chops’ instead of swings
POOL
- swim (6/27, 6/28, 7/2, 7/7, 7/9, 7/10, 7/13, 7/14)
- he initiated a back float from his tummy (6/28)
- he does big jumps into the pool
- he wore goggles…just one day (7/7)
- practicing back float with very light assist (7/13)
- assisted backward flip at surface (7/14)
- he said:
- “mostly be kids in pool”
WENATCHEE RIVERFRONT RAILWAY
- we’re regulars riding the mini train (7/4)
PRESCHOOL CAMP
- 1st preschool experience for “dinosaur camp” (Mon 7/10 – Th 7/13, from 8:30-11:30 AM)
- Eric & I went mountain biking together (7/11, 7/13)
OHME GARDENS
- exploring the gardens (6/28, 6/30, 7/7)
- he likes to throw pennies in the ponds
LINCOLN ROCK STATE PARK
- we love going to the little pea gravel beach in the evening (6/29, 7/3)
- he likes going in the cold water & throwing rocks
- he loves to say hi to other kids
- he said:
- “I like naked”
- “I want go farther” (out in the water)
MOUNTAIN BIKING – SQUILCHUCK STATE PARK
- mountain biking (7/1)
BABY SHOWER & VISITING ERIC’S FAMILY
- the shower was for Todd’s cousin, Justin (7/8)
- he said, “ready go see Grammie house” (it was really at Todd’s aunt Dallas’ house)
- Todd’s favorite part was following the chickens around
- on the way there, we stopped by the Espresso Chalet on Highway 2 (Index, WA)
WALLA WALLA POINT PARK
- he was drawn to the water…of course! (7/12)
- before he went in the water, he wanted to wear his fleece jacket in 95 degree weather at the park
RIDING THE MINI TRAIN – SKYKOMISH
- on the way to Everett we stopped in Skykomish to ride the mini train (7/15)
- he loved playing with the train set inside the gift shop/visitor center
WEDDING CELEBRATION
- we drove over Steven’s Pass to the Everett Yacht Club to celebrate the marriage of Eric’s college friend, Chris (7/15)
- Todd loved dancing with the little girls & twirling like they did
OTHER ACTIVITIES
- open gym at Apple Valley Gymnastics (7/3)

DAY TIME NAPS
- he continues to be a solid napper, with no changes
- his diaper is usually wet after naps but it was dry on 6/27
NIGHT TIME SLEEP
- he woke up in the night 18x this month (we’re going in the wrong direction…eek!)

- I left his room at bedtime and he said he was “so mad,” then “want mama come here, I miss her” (6/21)
POTTY TALK
- no more using Baby potty at home (starting 6/27)
- he pees straight into toilet by standing on a step stool
- he started to aim his own penis during pee-pees (6/30)
- like last month, he only needs a diaper during naps & at night
- he said:
- “I pee-pee self” (meaning he didn’t need us to help him aim)

This is PART ONE of this month’s post because we did so many different activities!
VISITING MY FAMILY – BEND, OR
- we drove down to see my sister & parents (Thur 6/22 – Mon 6/26)
- on the way there, Todd had a dry pull up because we made multiple pee stops
- at a rest area, Todd spotted a kid in a baseball uniform & the kid was nice enough give Todd a ball he’d had for years
- Dining out: Bend Pizza Kitchen (6/22); Pacific Pizza (6/24); Bonta (6/25); Super Burrito (6/25)
- Activities: Shevlin Park ~2 mile walk (6/23); Juniper pool swimming (6/23); Elk Lake (6/24); Swim meet (6/25)
- Eric & I went to Ashley’s dance recital while Karin & Eli stayed home with Todd (6/23)
- he stood on a step stool to pee directly into the toilet during our visit (NO more Baby Bjorn potty needed!!)
- he napped in travel bed 2 days
BEND PIZZA KITCHEN
COUSINS
- he got to meet his new puppy cousin, Lucy
- he does somersaults after he runs & jumps into the pillow pile in the play room
SHEVLIN PARK
JUNIPER SWIM & FITNESS CENTER
- this kiddie pool area was shallow enough for Todd to touch the bottom
ELK LAKE – DESCHUTES NATIONAL FOREST
- he loved digging in the sand & throwing rocks while my family went out on SUPs

HEADED BACK HOME
- on the way home, we had lunch in Madras with mom & dad as they started a long road trip & we stopped at a great park in Moro, OR (6/26)
VISIT FROM MY FAMILY
- my sister & her kids (Todd’s cousins) came to visit us (7/16 – 7/21)
- Dining out: Lemolo (7/17); Saddle Rock Pub & Brewery (7/18); El Porton (7/19)
- Activities: Ice cream social (7/16), Pioneer Park (7/17), Crescent bar (7/18), Slidewaters (7/19) & pool swims (7/17, 7/20)
PIONEER PARK
CRESCENT BAR
- this was our 1st visit here, but it won’t be our last! (7/18)
- the recreation area is still under construction, which was great for Todd because he got to sit on some heavy equipment!
- the beach is sandy & shallow
- several times the loud military jets flew by
SADDLE ROCK PUB & BREWERY
SLIDEWATERS
- we went to Slidewaters (7/19)
- Todd went down the #1 little slide by himself over & over; he went down #2 little slide, too
- he was brave enough to try #4 little slide by himself but got flipped over before I caught him at the bottom, so he didn’t repeat that one
- he went on the big slides with Eric for the 1st time & loved it
- he loved the frog slide in the kiddie splash area
- he liked the lazy river & swam with the current; he liked to watch the big bucket dump out
- on the way home, we stopped by Tunnel Hill winery
