COMMUNICATION & COGNITION

• his expressive communication seems to be taking off!
• he repeats almost everything we ask him to repeat (1 word at a time)
• he can tell you the names of Star Wars characters & he says them on his own “Chewey,” “Yaya” (Leia), “Obeesh Wo” (Obiwan)
• he says “light” in the morning, so we’ll turn on the lamp
• he said “pillow blanket” very clearly
• I heard him through the baby monitor saying “I need Goppa” (11/4)
• he asks for “iPad” and “phone”
• he said “race”
• he points to his palm & says his name when he’s asking for something
• he repeats words that he hears in the car (in songs & his Star Wars book on CD)
• he pointed to my wet hair, said “wet,” then pointed toward the bathroom & said “shower” (11/6)
• in the parking spot he says “condo”
• he says “soap”
• he says “read” when he wants to read
• he can name or point to many things in books
• he appropriately puts trash in the garbage

FAVORITE THINGS

• Walla Walla Park & Apple Valley Gymnastics (see below)
• watching Stars Wars movies over & over
• I get to snuggle with him on the couch when he watches his “show”
• he loves watching me play the Pitfall game app & he takes my hand to ‘jump’ or ‘slide’
• sitting on the digger when we visited Mike P (10/22)
• standing on the toilet lid to play in the sink
• when he sees football on the TV he gets excited, says “football” and likes to throw & catch the ball
• getting flipped by Eric on the bed

WALLA WALLA PARK

• he got his courage up to ride the merry-go-round this month
• he can climb up to the top of the fake boulder at Walla Walla Park

TEETH

• the last (two) 2nd year molars spotted (upper left just barely)
• that’s tooth #18 & tooth #19
• mixed cooperation with tooth brushing

DAY TIME NAPS

• naps start ~1-1:30 PM & last up to 3 hours (no change)
• 1st, 2nd & 3rd times climbing out of his crib (10/25, 11/1, 11/3); he used a chair to help him so once we moved it he didn’t get out again
• he fell asleep on Eric before his nap (11/14)

NIGHT TIME SLEEP

• he woke up crying in the night just once (11/3) & fell asleep within 15 minutes after I went in. I held his hand without saying anything.
• he had a lot of earlier wake-ups after we set the clocks back an hour
• he said “bye bye, Mama,” & waved to me before bed (see video)

POTTY TALK

• no change from prior month (most poops are done in the toilet & he typically says “poo-poo” before)
• he had a few days of soft poops in his diaper
• he doesn’t tell us when he has to pee but he’ll go if we take him
• sometimes we set a “dangle timer” so he can go without a diaper for ~15 minutes after he does a stand up pee-pee in his potty
• he used a urinal (11/14)
