(Of course, I can’t write down everything he says, but I write down as much as I can!)

• “mine” (this word just started being part of his vocabulary)
• “I do own” (he wants to do it himself)
• “get big” (he talks about thing he will do when he gets bigger)
• “Hmm…” (he says when pondering something)
• “right back” (telling us he’ll be right back)
• “what heck” (he says what the heck)
• “see ya”
• “silly man” or “I silly man”
• “dada, go away”
• “atchee” (how he says “Wenatchee”)
• “Hi, mama, I’m Todd” (while pointing to himself)
• “Hi, kitty, nice to see you”
• “I drive siren”
• “no shit” (he tried to say “no shirt”)
• “boom, boom, boom”
• “I put sticks there”
• “don’t worry” (he said after Eric said, “I’ll come back, don’t worry”)

NISHIKAWA’S SWING

• he said:
  • “I go Mishikawa’s swing”
  • “Mishikawa’s red swing”
• he was fixated on the red swing at a friend’s house (after he saw a picture of himself from last year swinging there)

SAFETY AWARENESS

• he said:
  • “I’ll be safe” on balance board
  • “Hang on really tight”
  • “I’m okay…I’m okay again.” (he tipped over on his bike twice in a row at the skate park)
  • “Watch out shoppers!” (when he almost got hit by shoppers at Wal-Mart)

• 2nd question: “What sound?” (he heard the washing machine from his crib)

• Favorite movies: Toy Story, A Bug’s Life, Avatar (he calls it “nay nang show”), Zootopia (he calls it “bunny & fox show” or “fox & bunny show”)
• he said, “it looks fun” when watching scenes in Avatar
• he calls Buzz Lightyear “fly up guy” or “high up guy”
• In A Bug’s Life, he likes to watch the grasshopper scene & bird scene repeatedly
• he calls Finding Dory “fish show”
• he said, “not Home Alone, just Daniel” (Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood)
• when he watches The Gruffalo show he says, “walkin’, walkin’, walkin'” & “big guy walkin’ with mouse walkin'”

  • “Dada says” (in a “Me Reader” Marvel book one of the pages says the word, “buddy,” which is what Eric calls Todd)
  • “I look busy” (a little while after I told him he looked busy playing with dozer on bookshelf)

  • “This game sucks. I try this game.” (while playing a game on our phone)
  • “I try this one” (while painting with watercolors)
  • “I try this car, super cool” (while racing cars on his Hot Wheels track)

• he woke up in the night 8x (same as the last 2 months)

  • “I need towel!” (in his crib because there was a wet spot on his sheets)
  • “I sleep, I wake up, I _____” (he tells us what he’s going to do tomorrow)
  • “I sleep, I wake up, I go Boone house, I go upstairs, I play trains”
  • “I poo poo” in his crib before bed (but only goes pee when I take him to the potty)
  • “not pull leg” (he said after I asked him if he was pulling my leg about needing to do another poo-poo…and he was pulling my leg!)
  • “I pee-pee” (when he was in his crib at night, so I took him to the toilet)
  • “I’m choking” (while coughing in his crib)

POTTY TALK

• he rarely misses poo-poos in toilet (status quo)
• he goes pee pee standing at his baby potty when we tell him to go
• started wearing pull-up diaper during daytime when awake (3/28)
• we’re working on getting him to initiate peeing in his potty on his own by reminding him where “not” to pee when he’s dangling
• he says, “bubbles!” when he pees in his baby potty
• he initiated:
  • 2 pees himself (4/15)
  • 6 pees himself (4/16)

PERSONAL HYGIENE

• He said…
  • “I’m trying to get a booger”
  • “all clean” (after bath)
  • “all clean, wash hands, brush teeth and spit”
  • “I got hiccups”
  • “I don’t like it” (when we try to brush his hair or get his hair wet in the tub)
  • “I got sick. I need mama, dada, Todd” (2 months after he barfed in his bed, he still talks about it frequently)
• after he gets out the bathtub I try to hold him like a baby while drying him off…he tries to get away, then runs naked out to see Eric in the living room
• he tried to get more boogers out of his nose, but there weren’t any more left…and he got a little upset about it 😀
